HTML/CSS Frontender
We've got a competent back-end team, but are looking for a front end kinda person. The website has, thus far, been developed with minimal concern for end-user appearance and experience, so we need a developer who's able to design from scratch, based on mock ups.
As the prettifier, you need:- Experience with themed websites, modifying or creating
- To be able to write CSS/HTML from scratch, without generators, or modifying existing themes
- To create designs consistent across major web browsers (cross-platform compatibility, if you need the buzzwords)
- Ability to learn or knowledge of multiple templating systems
Bonus skills include:
- Experience theming jQuery
- Template::Toolkit, HTML::Template, Template::Simple, Text::Xslate, Underscore.js
- Experience with Perl-based websites
Having fully designed a theme is not necessary, and this would be an excellent opportunity for someone interested in cutting their teeth on very large, high volume, custom websites. Tell us what you've got and what you want to play with and we might be able to work with it.
This is a remote position, so the candidate should be able to work over instant message and telephone. Must also be willing to sign a nondisclosure agreement before receiving specifications, and must be authorized to work in the US on a 1099 basis (corp-to-corp preferred but not absolute).
